Our History

BiOWiSH™ technology was conceived by BiOWiSH™ Founder and Chief Scientist Dr. Wisuit Chantawichayasuit, who holds multiple degrees in agriculture and animal nutrition. Over 18 years ago, he embarked on intensive shrimp farming, following a then regional practice of piping ocean water into inland ponds. However, the tidal water being diverted from the delta carried sludge and other pollutants, affecting water quality in the ponds and nearby mangrove areas. By observing the ponds throughout the day, Dr. Wisuit noticed that, over time, the water in the mangrove areas became clearer.
He concluded that there was something occurring naturally in the mangrove environment that improved the water quality. He was determined to discover what was creating this natural cleaning system and to replicate the effect. His research identified certain naturally occurring organisms, and he pursued an understanding of the conditions under which those organisms would grow.
Over the ensuing 18 years, BiOWiSH™ scientists have harnessed the power of these organisms and developed the fermentation process to create a powerful blend of proprietary biocatalysts. Extensive research and development has resulted in refinement of the production process through the introduction of additional natural microorganisms.
Today, BiOWiSH™ technology continues to evolve across a variety of settings as a 100% natural, non-toxic and safe means of degrading and digesting organic matter, reducing odors and organic emissions, improving soil fertility and enhancing water quality.
