The importance of a stable pond environment in aquaculture cannot be underestimated. Stress caused by poor environmental conditions negatively affects the yields, survival rates and flavor of seafood.

Over the past few decades, aquaculture has grown faster than any other form of food production. Today, about half of the seafood consumed around the world comes from farms, and with the projected rise in global seafood consumption, that proportion is expected to increase.
